Courses Offered at LaGrone

Year 1:
  • Engineering Design Process (1 semester)

  • AC/DC Electronics: Digital Electronics (1 semester)

 *Braswell students must take these courses on their home campus
 
Year 2:
  • Practicum in Engineering I (Full year) (2 credits)
    • Prerequisites: Algebra I & Geometry

 
Year 3:
  • Practicum in Engineering II (Full year) (2 credits)                                      

 


 

Knowledge and skills learned

  • Apply engineering design process, math, science, and engineering standards to hands-on projects like designing a new toy or improving an existing product

  • Utilize circuit design processes to create combinational logic and sequential logic (memory) as electrical engineers do in industry

  • Respond to design challenges using mechanisms, hydraulics, strength of structure and materials.

  • Construct simple autonomous and remote controlled robot using basics of simple machines, gear ratios, coding, and hardware/software interface 

  • Research, design, and test solutions to real-world problems

  • Autodesk Associate (Certified User) AutoCAD
